Hey guys, Ever heard of a toy maker called Papo? They make some of the most realistic looking dinosaur figures i've ever seen. These things tend to be limited editions, I got the whole collection so far. Spino. Pachy. Petro. Stego. Raptor Para. Allosaurus. Triceratops. T-Rex.

I don't care for the Jurassic Park feel to them, I realize some were modeled directly from the movie. They are beautiful though, especially the allosaurus, though his feet look a bit on the large size. I envy your collection, I haven't had any toy dinosaurs since my mom made me get rid of them in my early teens, wish I hadn't because I had quite an extensive collection. Now I just gotta wait for children of my own, the ultimate excuse to buy toys. Have you checked out the Dinosaur Toy forum or Blog? I check the blog often. Those are amazing! Makes me wish I had more plastic dinos growing up. Mine were very limited...my thing back then was zoo animals, so I had all the other plastic animals. Even rubber whales!
So is that a subscription where they mail you a new toy each month?

They have all kinds of cool stuff for dino fans

Yep, I'm a bit of a collector. Yes, I have the entire Papo collection. Some of my favourites for sure. The detailing is just insane on them. Pity they haven't done more. The Allo is probably their best. It may look pretty bulky and stuff in the pic, though in real life it looks much more accurate. My one problem with it is that since I had to buy it online, when I recived it the paint quite clearly shows the seam on the neck. Are you fortunate to have some Battats in your collection as well? Those are most definetly also among my favourites. I have most of them. ;D

Yep, Safari as a company is really good as well. Particularly Wild Safari; 08 and 09 were both fantastic, and 2010 appears to be just as good. Actually, I'd say I prefer them over Carnegie. Dang, I still need to get my hands on the 09 Carnegie figures, but nowhere I've gone has had them yet.

Yeah I know. Although these things aren't usually priority enough for me to buy them online. I usually just go to any stores in the area that might have them and pick them up if they're there. Besides, I heard those Link and Pin guys don't ship outside the US anymore, and the only canadian online store I knew of is now closed (though the free shipping and variety was nice while it lasted).

Thats why I need kids, otherwise that sort of luxury gets side lined by books, movies, fishing gear...whatever other hobby I partake in. I want them, just not bad enough I guess.

in truth these figures are really made more for collectors especially the papo dinosaurs. young kids would quickly ruin the paint jobs on them.

Probably but I cannot imagine having children and NOT letting them play with MY toy dinosaurs. Not to mention that without children I'll probably never own them anyway.

Good point. I've got plenty of plastic and rubber animals already (shame there are only a couple dinosaurs, and they're all of the lowest imaginable quality). Plenty of cars, too. If my kids don't want to be zoologists then I suppose they can be auto mechanics.
