Nothing wrong with that...I wasn't told I wasn't supposed to play house or Barbies until I started school. Got some pretty funny home videos of me playing girls' games as a kid. My sister joined us to play cars and animals, too.

I only collect Carnegie's. Papo's are unrealistic, yet pretty cool. Carnegie has a great variety, I love collecting them, yet I only have 2. Giganoto and Microraptor.

Presenting, Papo 2010! As much of a fan of Papo as I am, I'm not as big a fan of this one as I am some of the others. Definetly not as good as the Allo. And also for Carnegie 2010... They look pretty good, especially the Icthyo. Although the Cryo's pose looks pretty bad in that pic. Hopefully it looks better in person.

Interesting the way they put the cephalopod in the Ichthysaurus's mouth.

A nicely outdated oviraptor I see. Pronated hands, no feathers and even grasping an egg. Is it THAT difficult to get things right?

I saw two ovi's on that post. One had feathers and winglike arms with claws. I wasn't aware the scaly, egg-grasping version was out-of-date. Wonder which figure is newer...

They are both scheduled for release in 2010, though the Papo one (the one with the egg) has already been released in some places. Papo has always been known for exceptional detail but lacking a bit in accuracy. The feathered version is by Procon. They are the newest company, and specialize more in quantity over quality. They are very hit-and-miss. Unfortunetly their Ovi looks rather cartoonish. Oh well.... at least its not the horror of the Gigantoraptor from last year.

Papo is detailed, but more JP and classic representation. Procon (just looked it up) is just weird. Gigantoraptor as you said looked like a chicken mixed with Big Bird. Carnegies are detailed, realistic, and up to date. But expensive, so I only have 2.

in truth these figures are really made more for collectors especially the papo dinosaurs. young kids would quickly ruin the paint jobs on them. Which is another reason why I prefer to buy from an actual store. I can check to see if the figure I'm getting is in good condition. I do that to with everything. I always take books in a stack from the middle, or toys on a shelf behind the display one. I collect, but with inexpensive things, like state quarters. I'm aware that you can't collect them Dino.

The recent ones from the past couple years are as detailed (in fact even more so) than Carnegie, are fairly accurate, are widely available, and cheaper. (Although their older ones are more cartoonish and less detailed. It seems they got a new sculptor for 2007).
